About Our Retreat Center

Since 1969, we have been serving the Archdiocese of Milwaukee as a retreat center, providing a God-filled space with a prayerful atmosphere through the beauty of nature and in the vicinity of the International Schoenstatt Shrine, a chapel dedicated to the Mother of God under the title of Mother Thrice Admirable, Queen, and Victress of Schoenstatt. The beauty surrounding the retreat center makes it a restful place for many pilgrims.

Our Staff

The joyful dedication and vigorous commitment of the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary to their mission of spiritual formation of the laity, families, youth, and others, fills the Retreat Center with the love of God.

Their presence, service, and prayers turn the retreat center into an extension of the shrine.

In this manner, the sisters continue to live up to their calling of “being Mary” for the world.

Our Service

In connection with the Schoenstatt Shrine, our Retreat Center is a spiritual home for the national and international Schoenstatt family.

Hand in hand with volunteers and the leaders of the Schoenstatt Movement, we offer Schoenstatt retreats to people from all walks of life.

We also serve as a retreat center for schools, parishes, and other organizations of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.

Our Mission

Father Joseph Kentenich (1885-1968), the founder of Schoenstatt, envisioned our Retreat Center on this land as an international center.

People from all over the world come here to receive formation, to increase their knowledge of Schoenstatt history and its spirituality, and to come into contact with the places blessed by the presence of the founder of Schoenstatt, Father Joseph Kentenich.

House Chapel

Come to this place of peace where you can reflect on God’s love and mercy in your life. The Chapel is at the center of the retreat center, and our love for Jesus and his holy Mother Mary are at the center of our life. The cedar beams and the stained glass windows add to the ambiance conducive to prayer and meditation.

Come to the store where you will find religious goods, books, sacred pictures, rosaries, cards, and seasonal items.

Guest Wings

The guest rooms in the retreat center are located in the St. Joseph’s and St. Michael’s wings. The cedar beams and natural lighting add to the beauty and peace of the retreat center.

Guest Rooms

In our retreat center, the rooms have twin size beds – you may recieve a single, double, or triple room. Each room has a view looking out on the beautiful natural setting.

Lounge Areas

You can find many lounge areas throughout the retreat center. They can be used for small group meetings or for personal use.

Conference Hall

Meeting spaces for larger groups are available in different parts of the Retreat Center. The sizes of the meeting spaces vary to accommodate the needs of each group.

Dining Area

The dining area looks out on the back of the retreat center. There are several dining rooms in the retreat center that can be used to accommodate groups of varying sizes. The smell of home cooking is a welcome touch at meal times.

Home cooked meals are prepared in the retreat center kitchen by our friendly staff who consider any dietary, allergy, or special needs. Chocolate chip cookies are a favorite of many of our guests and friends.

Children's Paradise

A play area for children, called Children’s Paradise, is located on the lower level. This is a favorite area for guests ages 10 and under. Parental supervision is required.

Father Kentenich Hall

The Schoenstatt Retreat Center has a beautiful and spacious meeting area available for groups as large as 500. This area is called the Father Kentenich Hall, named for Schoenstatt’s founder, Father Joseph Kentenich, and has a state of the art sound system and audio visual equipment.

Meeting Rooms

In the Father Kentenich Hall, there are a number of small break out rooms. The main room has dividers to make the large space into smaller meeting spaces. Also, there are four small meeting rooms with a view of the Schoenstatt Shrine.

Our home is the perfect place for groups to come for a day or overnight retreat, experience a pilgrimage of grace, and enjoy over 200 acres of beautiful nature. In our retreat center, the Blessed Sacrement is accessible 24/7 in our house chapel.
