Girls & Young Women
Schoenstatt was founded the youth, with boys to be sure, but still with young people. The branch of the Schoenstatt Girls & Young Women officially came into being August 15, 1931, and it made its way to the US in the late fifties.
The goal of a Schoenstatt young woman is to be a reflection of Mary, in essence a little Mary. The ideal of the Schoenstatt Girls & Young Women here in the US is to be a Holy Springtime of the Father. In this culture of death that is around us we want to bring new life, new hope, new strength, an enlivening of who we are as persons, as children of a father, our God.
Schoenstatt helps us as youth to make our faith our own. It helps us bring our faith into our daily lives. Through the covenant of love, Mary becomes our educator as well as our Mother and Queen. We give ourselves to her to form and lead as she will. Our world needs people who will stand for what they believe, people who know what they believe; people who believe in something good. Schoenstatt is a place of formation for these people. Mary will form us to into who we are.
