Happy Covenant Day!

March 18, 2024

Dear Schoenstatt Mothers and friends,
Many Covenant Day greetings as we unite either spiritually or physically in our Schoenstatt Shrine to renew the covenant of love with our Mother Thrice Admirable, Queen, and Victress of Schoenstatt, the great Living Monstrance. Here are some options for making this March 2024 Covenant Day special.
  • Original Shrine: Take time to make a virtual visit for two minutes to two hours in the Original Shrine (all day) via webcam.
  • Virtual Covenant Renewal - Waukesha: Attend the virtual covenant renewal (bilingual) at the International Shrine of the Father Kingdom in Waukesha at 7:30 CT.
  • Schoenstatt Way of Life Podcast: Listen to Julia Monnin's podcast for the Covenant Day!
Take a few minutes to consider the experiences of the past month and offer our MTA a precious gift of gratitude, of an offering of self-education, and of a petition. Our small and large contributions help in the renewal of the world that our Mother and Queen initiates from our network of Schoenstatt shrines. Submit your contributions at the provided link.

Schoenstatt inspirations for you!

As we continue the Lenten journey, and get closer to Holy Week and Easter, here are some inspirations for you:
  • A bit of Lenten math: Read the following article about how the covenant of love helps us live a deeper attachment to God and our neighbor.
  • Have you smiled today? Take on the challenge in the last days of Lent to share a smile and see what this little sign of joy can bring to lift up hearts!
  • Realistic Optimism: Watch Sr. Francine Marie and Sr. M. Anika share insights into how we can be more realistic in a positive way on their recent episode of Beyond the Ordinary. (Subtitles in English)

Prayer intentions

We ask our Mother Thrice Admirable, Queen, and VIctress of Schoenstatt to intercede:
  • For all who have family members struggling with identity issues
  • For grace to persevere in our Lenten resolutions in the last weeks/days of Lent.
  • For all who struggle with terminal illness.
  • For peace in the world especially between Ukraine and Russia and peace in the Middle East.
  • For all suffering from the loss of a loved one.
  • For the unemployed and underemployed.
  • For peace in our hearts especially toward those who we find to be difficult.
  • For those preparing to enter into full communion with the Church on Easter Vigil.

Inspirations in Schoenstatt International

Men's rosary group in prison: Read about the first Mother and Queen's Men's Rosary group in a prison in Brazil. Our Mother Thrice Admirable opens hearts for her son among these men.

Easter Trail: Enjoy the Easter experience in Switzerland where there is something for the whole family to experience on the days between Palm Sunday and Easter. Maybe some of these ideas inspire you to help make Holy Week more meaningful.

Family Federation in the USA: Congratulations to the families in the Family Federation in Texas on their perpetual consecration. Read about their celebration that took place on .February 21-22, 2024.
As we continue our Lenten journey we lift up our hearts and take the Easter message of our father and founder to heart:

As true Christians we will never lose courage. Our body may be destroyed and crushed by suffering. But what is all our suffering here on earth? Our cross is not too heavy for us because our Lord carried it for us and before us. One day there will be an end [to this earthly suffering]. This suffering will be the measuring stick for our eternal glory.

I wish you now, and I wish myself, and we all wish each other, an Easter filled with abundant graces. We wish to become Easter persons like the Blessed Mother, people who live and realize the Easter mystery in daily life in its totality.

In Gratitude,
Sr. M. Deanne
