Happy Covenant Day!

18th Impulse - February 2024

Dear Schoenstatt Mothers and friends,
Many Covenant Day greetings as we unite either spiritually or physically in our Schoenstatt Shrine to renew the covenant of love with our Mother Thrice Admirable, Queen, and Victress of Schoenstatt, the great Living Monstrance. We are in the holy season of Lent and here are some inspirations
Importance of Baptism - When we make our covenant of love in Schoenstatt, it is based on our baptismal covenant. As we journey through Lent, we prepare to renew our baptismal promises. Read about how you can celebrate this great gift personally and as a family.
Why ashes? - Read about the meaning of why we receive ashes on Ash Wednesday.
Soul Depth - Each month the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary website offers the inspiration from the Schoenstatt Young Women's annual calendar. For February 2024 the theme is soul depth: often impressions sit in our soul and wait to be worked through. Take a few moments to read this helpful inspiration.
Take some time today either personally, with your family, or with your group to renew the covenant of love with one of these options:
  • Original Shrine: Take time to make a virtual visit for two minutes to two hours in the Original Shrine (all day) via webcam.
  • Virtual Covenant Renewal - Waukesha: Attend the virtual covenant renewal (bilingual) at the International Shrine of the Father Kingdom in Waukesha that will be earlier in the day at the Waukesha Covenant Sunday since the 18th is on a Sunday. (approximately 11:15 am CT)
  • Schoenstatt Way of Life Podcast: Listen to Julia Monnin's podcast for the Covenant Day!
Take a few minutes to consider the experiences of the past month and offer our MTA a precious gift of gratitude, of an offering of self-education, and of a petition. Our small and large contributions help in the renewal of the world that our Mother and Queen initiates from our network of Schoenstatt shrines. Submit your contributions at the provided link.

Some of the Schoenstatt Mothers have been working on an audio resource based on the wish to have some of the Heavenwards prayers available. This is still in the development stage so during this time in Lent you might want to take some time in your home shrine and turn on and enjoy the Heavenwards: Rosary, Reflections, Songs.
We ask our Mother Thrice Admirable, Queen, and VIctress of Schoenstatt to intercede:
  • For all suffering from terminal illness.
  • For a blessed Lenten season during the time of the Eucharistic Revival.
  • For our country in this election year.
  • For teachers and students.
  • For those who struggle with depression and mental illness.
  • For women expecting babies that they may value the life of their child.
  • For the gift of our MTA's gentle presence in her visits through the Pilgrim MTA.
  • In gratitude for all the blessings received through the covenant of love.
  • For all of your personal and family intentions
Here are a few other inspirations for the Lenten journey:
  • Healing Relationships with Mary: Read about how a medical doctor in Chile helps patients heal through a relationship with Mary.
  • Decision making in daily life YouTube: Sr. Francine Marie and Sr. M. Anika share in their YouTube episode how challenging it is to make decisions based on dialog with God.
  • A gift is a task: Find help from how the gift of Jesus being presented in the temple becomes a moment of pain for Mary when she is told that a sword will pierce her heart. See how our gifts and pain can become a task in life.
  • John Possibon and his family: Read how John Possibon's daughter shares about the family life of the man who started the Schoenstatt Pilgrim Mother apostolate in Brazil in 1950.
During this Lenten season, maybe you would like to make a personal retreat. The above resources can help you find Schoenstatt inspiration for personal, group, or family use. Together with Jesus and Mary and our Church and Schoenstatt Family. Living Monstrance - lift up your hearts in our journey toward Easter!

In Gratitude,
Sr. M. Deanne
